We had occasion to run down to Centralia to visit our/my tub. It was triggered by a need to get the right kind of faucet so the plumber can finish his “pressure test” so the inspector can certify the house as liveable. Inspections, then dry wall and insulation. Then… paint, cabinets, lighting (in that order). And then maybe we’ll be home again.
So there we were, checking up on things and visiting with the owner and, I remembered I needed/wanted a picture of my light with the top on it! I snapped a quick pic at the antique store of the lamp just like mine. It’s a little blurry, but you can see the lovely curvy, curly part that it hangs from. I am so excited about some of the items we have found (at what are -barely- affordable prices), and thinking about the possibilities for the coming spring and summer.
And here again is the tub. I am getting a lovely faucet (at a discount) for the tub. It will be in a matte nickel finish, which since I decided to go with Chrome for everything else, will be out of place. But the tub will sit in its own small alcove, so I think it will be okay. And if I really like the matte nickel, I trade out other fixtures as we have money. Chrome is a lot less expensive. I am hoping since they are both shiny and sort of silvery they will work together.
And this is the color I decided on for the outside of the tub, which Steve and Seth told me today has a lovely smooth finish, not pitted the way some old tubs get. Behr S-G-330 “Instant Delight” is a very bright color — BUT. It will go on the bottom of the tub, only a small part of which will be visible in the room. AND… I can always paint again if I get tired of this color. I am really good at painting things!
Small decisions, adding up.
