At last…

Finally, the kitchen is really looking like a kitchen. It’s a lovely hint at what it will be in a couple weeks.

And yes, pictures!

Click for a glimpse…

The island:

The undermount sink was clamped to the countertop, and I was so excited by it all that I could not hold still -- so it is a little blurry...

The counter in the corner by the ovens.

We chose this type of soapstone because of its unexpected movement and energy.

The counter next to the dishwasher.

The sink pretty well covers the dishwasher, so this section abuts it slightly and covers the last drawer unit. Tom and I worked for an hour thinking about how to place the counters so we could show off this lovely inclusion... and its mate on the island. So amazing...

And the bathrooms!

Ours, which is lovely and old-fashioned…

The sink is a porcelain that hearkens to a bygone age and suits both the fixtures and the stone nicely.

And Grant’s which is masculine with a modern vibe:

We bought the vessel sink months ago from an online sale site. The fancy faucet was more money than we had planned on, but worth every penny. The sink is a little taller than I like, but it is the perfect height for Grant! And his similarly sized peers...

Finally, the front door hardware was installed today. It is beautiful against the blue door. Grant seems to like it, too.

Grant's just-over six-foot frame shows how tall the door is, something that is difficult to judge from other pictures. It's a nice-sized door!
