Poetry Month Day 12 (late, backdated)

Poem # 5

The best parents
watch carefully enough
that the young are never in danger
and let go enough
that the young can take risks necessary
to grow.

small birds, teetering on the edge of the nest
fauns, nosing out into the meadow
cubs, climbing a tree
fry, easing into the rapids

Stepping into the unknown,
vaulting into the future.

Poem # 6

not-i and not-u
a jumble of vowels and near-vowels
